• I would like your personal feedback after the workshop and exhibition of "Vida De Um Vestido"?

Amanda Ericson - "The life of the dress" - ,in collaboration with the Brazilian born artist Kerol da Silva and a Mexican Photographer Roberto Rubalcava and Mima-te organized the workshop . It was a very interesting project, since we had a lot of people attending. A bundle of second hand clothes was available for anyone interested in recycling/upcycling to make a new piece of cloth. Very beautiful and creative pieces were produced by the participants, an installation of photography was at the gallery to be seen.

• What do you learned back, what do you think you was able to contribute during the workshops activities?

It was a collaboration, meaning every participant contributed to the success of it and learned from one another . Mima-te also had a temporary shop at the Gallery where visitors could purchase dresses from our past collection ( Mafalala collection) and see our work.

• Are you going to do this workshop in mozambique again?

It is an interesting and innovative project. But, there is nothing concrete at the moment. We might do, we might not.
Nevertheless when we go to the markets( Xipamanine and Fajardo) ``collecting materials`` we offer that people do come with us and we show and explain where we select the clothes .So they can experience at firsthand, this feeling of hunting and the urge to upcycle old clothes. But an exhibition like this workshop would require fundings, which we as mima-te do not have at the moment.
